The village of Dunmore East boasts some of the most beautiful and idyllic beaches and coves on the Irish coastline. Here there are a half dozen sheltered and picturesque coves where excellent swimming and snorkeling can be enjoyed. The most popular are Councillors, a south facing beach between lofty red sandstone cliffs and just 300 metres from the holiday park, and Lawlors, right in the village. Both of these beaches have been awarded blue flag status in recent years. Also, within the village of Dunmore East are several beautiful secluded coves. These include: Stony Cove, Ladies Cove, Mens Cove and Badgers Cove.

Settled within the village of Dunmore East is the beautiful local park which provides ample greenery for play and walking. The park also provides many picnic areas and is a popular destination for locals and visitors enjoying their lunch in the sun. The park also boasts two all-weather tennis courts which are open to the public subject to booking and during the summer months tennis camps are run for children of all levels and ages. Furthermore, the park has an award winning playground which is fully enclosed and which provides a fun and safe environment for the younger visitor to the park.

COPPER COAST

The Copper Coast European Geopark is located on the South East coast of Ireland. It extends between Fenor in the east to Stradbally in the west and up to Dunhill in the north. The Copper Coast gets its name from the 19th Century copper mines that lie at its heart. It comprises some 25 kilometres of spectacular coastline consisting of scalloped beaches and coves, buttressed and enclosed by rocky headlands. Oceans, volcanoes, deserts and ice sheets all combined to create the rocks, which provide the physical foundation of the natural and cultural landscapes of the Copper Coast.

WATERFORD MUSEUM OF TREASURES

Three magnificent museums chronicling over one thousand years of history. The Medieval Museum, located in the heart of Waterford City which is 10 miles from Dunmore East, opened August 2012, explores the period from the Anglo-Norman siege of Waterford in 1170 to the end of the 17th century. Your visit starts with the magnificent 13th century Choristers' Hall and continues through the museum galleries on an amazing exploration of some of the great treasures of medieval Ireland.
